The governor made this known in Maiduguri when he received a donation of building materials and food items by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons. The commission donated bundles of roofing sheets, wheelbarrows, cartons of nails, cement, planks, shovels, head pan, among others, to the Borno Government. The fire which started around 11am, according to eye witness, was triggered when the truck loaded with 33,000 litres of diesel had difficulty ascending the hilly Ologuneru Road from Eleyele bridge. Sources disclosed that the difficulty led to the tanker detaching from the truck-head of the vehicle and falling on a Nissan Almera vehicle, spilling its content in the process.
